St. Luke's Second Annual Celebration of Jordan Robinson '20

On Saturday, Feb. 3, the St. Luke’s community celebrated the life of Jordan Robinson, a St. Luke's Class of 2020 graduate, during one of his favorite events: St. Luke's basketball.

The second annual celebration of life ceremony took place in between games at our varsity basketball doubleheader.

Jordan was the biggest Storm basketball fan — loyal, joyful, and unmissable. Jordan was known for his immense kindness and compassion, infectious laugh, and remarkable leadership on the football field, in classes, and through tireless social justice work.

Head of School Mary Halpin Carter welcomed everyone to Carey Gymnasium and thanked Jordan’s family for attending before Athletics Director Anna Knechtel and Dean of Students Noel Thomas spoke.

To honor Jordan’s commitment to building a better world, St. Luke’s Black Student Union hosted a children’s clothing drive during the game for children in grades K through 12. All clothing donations went to a local nonprofit that supports children in underserved communities. The BSU also hosted a concession stand, with proceeds benefiting the JMR Foundation for Social Justice, Diversity and Inclusion Inc. — a nonprofit established in Jordan’s memory by his family — that is dedicated to fostering a generation of compassionate and informed leaders. If you would like to contribute to the work of the foundation, you can do so through GoFundMe or by sending a check to:
