Gall Brothers Shine At FAA Championships

Daniel Clarke

Danny Gall ’23 and Brian Gall ’23 were the standout runners at the Fairchester Athletic Association Track and Field Championships at Hopkins School on Saturday, May 7.

The  brothers dominated the races they competed in with Danny winning the 800m in 2:04:43 and 1500m with a time of 4:12:50. Brian came in second in the 1500m with a time of 4:15:09. He also finished second in the 3000m race with a time of 9:29:16. Both Brian’s times were personal records.

It was the first time St. Luke’s School competed in the spring championships. The Galls were joined by Hanna Zable ’25 who ran in the 400m girls race finishing with a time of 1:10:76.

The three runners trained independently this winter and spring. St. Luke’s Cross Country Coach Corliss Spencer was extremely proud of their performances at the meet. “The 1500m race was the most exciting race I have ever seen,” she said. “Danny was way out in front but Brian made a late surge to go from third to second place and closed the gap on his brother. They both looked so dominant out there and Hanna had a great 400m race too. It was so great to watch them compete and I am thrilled for all of them.”

Brunswick School, Greens Farms Academy, Greenwich Country Day School, The Harvey School, Holy Child Rye, Hopkins School, King School, Rye Country Day School, Sacred Heart Greenwich, and The Masters School (NY) also competed at the event.
